teutolabs, Bielefeld University
Interactive exhibits make science self-explanatory.
teutolabs stands for hands-on learning in the lab. With the move to the city centre, this principle needed to work without supervision.
Three interactive exhibits emerged. They convey scientific principles without instructions. Visitors try things out, observe and draw their own conclusions.
Result: An exhibition area that works on its own – and creates real understanding.
What the exhibit shows
Turn. Mirror. Understand.
Three exhibits. Three principles.
A house is turned under a lamp – the angle changes the effect. A mirror book is moved – suddenly symmetry appears. A bioreactor responds to light – change becomes visible.
No text explains it. The objects show it.
Where the exhibit is used
In everyday life. Without supervision.
Built for open use. In the middle of the city. For all ages.
It works because it is self-explanatory. Because it sparks curiosity.
You walk past. And you get hooked.
„You switch it on and it works!“
Nele Meyer, Exhibition Coordinator, Klimahaus Bremerhaven
When knowledge should be directly experienced
Let's translate that.
You have content that needs to be understood. Without an introduction. Without instructions. Right there in the room. We develop exhibits that do exactly that. Simple. Clear. Effective.
